Position : Wet and Dry Grocery Buyer

Department : Merchandising

Reporting Line : Merchandising General Manager

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail oriented experienced Retail Buyer to join our team as a Grocery Buyer. He/She will be responsible for analyzing sales data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions, managing inventory levels, and building strong relationships with suppliers and driving sales growth.

Job Responsibilities

1. Product Sourcing

· Identify and source high-quality products that meet our company's standards and customer expectations.

· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions.

· Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences.

2. Purchasing

· Place orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.

· Negotiate prices, discounts, and payment terms with suppliers.

· Manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstocking.

3. Inventory Management

· Monitor and analyze sales data to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.

· Implement inventory control measures to prevent stock loss and theft.

4. Category Management

· Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales growth and improve profitability.

· Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new products and

services.

5. Vendor Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure excellent

service and quality product

· Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.

6. Reporting and Analysis

· Prepare regular reports on sales, inventory and purchasing activities

· Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in retail buying, procurement, or supply

Requirements:

1. Having a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.

2. Minimum 2 years of experience in retail industry.

3. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data

4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

7. Strong problem – solving skills and ability to think critically chain management.

Analytical Skills:

1. Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions

2. Ability to create financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profits

3. Ability to analyze profit margins and identify areas for improvement

4. Ability to conduct market research and analyze competitor activity

5. Ability to negotiate complex contracts with suppliers

6. Ability to build strong relationship with suppliers

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
