Electrical Instrumentation Technician Job Duties
Electrical instrumentation technicians have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Installing electrical components in industrial equipment such as motors, generators, transformers, and pumps
- Operating and maintaining industrial machinery including power generation facilities, oil refineries, chemical plants, etc.
- Reading diagrams, schematics, or other documents to determine wiring configurations or troubleshooting problems with equipment
- Installing, repairing, or maintaining electrical equipment such as switches, control panels, transformers, capacitors, relays, fuses, or circuit breakers
- Maintaining and calibrating measurement devices such as thermometers, pressure gauges, flow meters, ammeters, voltmeters, and hydrometers
- Repairing or replacing damaged electrical wiring or equipment such as light fixtures, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers, etc.
- Testing electrical equipment to ensure that it is operating correctly
- Installing, repairing, or maintaining electrical equipment such as motors, generators, transformers, and circuit breakers
- Identifying problems with electrical systems and recommending solutions
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all electrical and electronic equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical and electronic equipment
- Calibrate all electrical and electronic instruments
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
- Assist in the design of new electrical and electronic systems
- Train other technicians and workers on the proper use and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment
- Work with engineers to develop new products and improve existing products
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all safety regulations
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience as an instrumentation technician in an industrial setting
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software
- PLC programming experience
- HMI programming experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM70.00 - RM100.00 per day
