Job Descriptions:
- To implement safety and health standard in the work place in line with good practices.
- To collect, analyze and maintain statistics on any loss time incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning and diseases or other hazards, which have occurred at the work place.
- To monitor and check the effectiveness and efficiency of the safety and health measures in the work place, including corrective action plans required.
- To ensure the safety and health standards and practices comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
- Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise, vibration, water & air pollution)
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
- Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
- To conduct briefing Pre-Task Talk (PTT) every morning before start work
- To do induction briefing registration regarding safety during in workplace.
Job Requirements:
- A certified and registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH / JKKP (Green Book
Holder).
- Professional Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma,
Professional Degree (Environment / Health / Safety) or its equivalent.
- Familiar with OSHA regulations & requirements. Knowledge in safety practices.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 is added value advantage.
- To work closely with the local statutory bodies (DOSH, NIOSH, JKKP, etc.) to ensure compliance and update OSH related issues.
- Good communication skill and able to interact with all level people.
