Given this success in our existing markets, Shark Ninja has embarked on a bold plan for growing APAC business, in which APAC plays a critical role.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a shelf driven Retail Excellence Specialist to join our team. This role will be based in Malaysia.

Here are some of the exciting things you’ll get to do:

1) Training Management:

  • Developing Training Programs: Design and implement effective training programs that align with organizational goals. This can include leadership development, sales training, product knowledge, customer service skills, compliance, etc.
  • Conducting Training Sessions: Facilitate or coordinate training sessions, workshops, and seminars. This could involve in-person or virtual delivery of content.
  • Assessing Training Needs: Work closely with departments or teams to identify skill gaps or knowledge deficiencies that need addressing.
  • Tracking and Evaluating Progress: Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as needed. This can include surveys, feedback forms, performance evaluations, or follow-up training.
  • Onboarding: Create and deliver onboarding programs for new hires to ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

2) Promoter Management:

  • Supervising Promoters: Oversee a team of promoters who represent the company or brand at events, in retail locations, or online. Ensure promoters are performing their tasks effectively and professionally.
  • Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Coordinate work schedules for promoters to ensure sufficient staffing during peak hours, events, or campaigns.
  • Motivation & Support: Keep the team motivated by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and offering incentives or rewards for good performance.
  • Track Performance: Measure the success of promotional activities by collecting data on customer engagement, sales, leads, and other KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the performance of promotional activities, including sales data, customer feedback, and overall effectiveness of the promotion.

3) Client & Stakeholder Communication:

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Sales Teams: Work closely with marketing and sales departments to ensure that the promotional strategies align with company objectives.
  • Liaise with Clients/Brands: If working for an agency, a Promoter Supervisor may also interact with clients, helping them plan and execute promotions, and providing them with regular updates on progress.
  • Resolve Customer Issues: Handle customer complaints or concerns that arise during promotional activities. Ensure promoters are equipped with the necessary tools to address common questions or issues.

4) Event Planning & Coordination:

  • Event Management: Oversee logistics and setup for promotional events, such as product launches, pop-up shops, or trade shows. Ensure that everything runs smoothly during the event, from staffing to product availability.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a promotional, retail, or marketing role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead position.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of promoters effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with clients, customers, and internal teams in a professional manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks, schedules, and events simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify issues quickly and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Sales & Customer Service Orientation: Experience in sales or customer service is a plus, as the role requires promoting and selling products to customers.
  • Event Coordination Experience: Familiarity with event logistics, coordination, and promotion is beneficial.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools. Familiarity with CRM or promotional software is a plus.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

  • Strong ability to influence store support as a result of relationship and partnership building
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and understands when to seek guidance
  • Comfortable with computer skills in Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook as well as the ability to use an iPad and corresponding applications
  • Minimum of 4 years of in-person retail selling experience
  • Ambitious and self-motivated sales individual who exhibits confidence and professionalism
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience, achieving or exceeding quotas
  • Ability to work retail hours (standard, peak, holiday) including a minimum of three (3) days/week including every Saturday/Sunday (vacation blackout periods during key peak periods)
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience in consumer electronics or beauty is considered an asset
  • Solid experience designing blended training curriculum
  • A good understanding of training principles, methodology, and evaluation
  • Knowledge and expertise in using and managing eLearning on Learning management systems
