The System Reliability Engineer is responsible for coming up with the overall QA/QC check and to develop a strong maintenance plan to ensure high availability and uptime of the EV chargers and related equipment. Working closely with the COO of ChargeEV, the System Reliability Engineer plays a crucial role in executing the organization's strategic initiatives to ensure minimal downtime and everything works all the time. This position requires strong HSE first mindset, strong vendor management, operational expertise, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate DevOps methodologies to foster a culture of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), ensuring seamless, zero-downtime updates and deployments.
- Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to balance the trade-offs between releasing new features and ensuring reliability, facilitating a blame-free culture that encourages a learning and improvement mindset.
- Develop a robust QA/QC plan, emphasizing automation in testing and validation to identify potential issues proactively and enforce stringent quality standards during vendor delivery.
- Lead surveillance inspections and employ advanced monitoring tools to ensure compliance with project-specific quality requirements, incorporating real-time data analytics for immediate feedback and correction.
- Refine the Maintenance Master Plan by incorporating predictive maintenance strategies, leveraging data analytics and machine learning to anticipate and prevent potential failures.
- Optimize weekly maintenance scheduling meetings with a data-driven approach, ensuring the prioritization of tasks based on criticality and impact analysis, and facilitating cross-functional coordination for optimal equipment accessibility.
- Enhance the management of repair parts, tools, and equipment by implementing inventory optimization techniques, using predictive analytics to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize holding costs.
- Drive cost efficiency by controlling resource expenditure, utilizing budget forecasting models, and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising on service quality or reliability.
- Take a proactive approach to ensure site compliance with all local, national, and group codes and regulations, incorporating a comprehensive compliance monitoring system with real-time reporting capabilities.
- Manage site contractors with a focus on safety and quality, implementing stringent contractor management protocols and safety assurance processes to ensure adherence to agreed terms and timelines.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system reliability, analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement in maintenance practices and system performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by using data-driven insights for informed decision-making, and drive initiatives towards predictive maintenance and operational excellence.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, translating technical insights into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & Experiences:
- In possession of a Degree in Mechanical / Electrical or Industrial Engineering from a recognized University. Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or certifications in Project Management (PMP), DevOps, or Six Sigma is an added advantage
- Should possess in-depth knowledge of all reliability programs such as RCM, RAM, FMEA, Bad Actors, and terminologies MTTR, MTBF.
- More than 6 years’ experience in reliability, maintenance and process optimization
- Willingness to travel as required for site inspections, vendor meetings, and team coordination.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Experience in vendor management
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R) for predictive maintenance and performance monitoring.
- Understanding of IoT and smart technologies in the context of infrastructure monitoring and maintenance.
- Analytical mind and comfortable with data
- Ability to work under pressure and manage various projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.
- Having a “Just-do-it” startup mindset, self-starter and practices the Agile methodology.
- Strong command of English, written and spoken.
- Understanding of the EV market.
- Knowledgeable on HSE best practices
