We are Hiring for VMware( L 2 support) for Malaysia .

Work location : Malaysia

Interview Mode : Virtual

ONLY Malaysia citizen only, PR, LTVP,

Experience : 2 -4 yrs Relevant Experience

Daily Support

 Provide on-site support for the Operating System

and its related software (MS Windows Server,

Hyper-V, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware

vSphere ESXi, VMware vSphere vCenter, VMware

vSphere SRM, VMware vSphere VROps as per

Support Table above.

 Monitor and maintain all servers and OS related

services during daily and recovery operations or

testing to keep the system healthy and to ensure that

systems are performing within the expected range.

 Unlimited on-line (remote) and on-site support for

listed assets and its related System Software

 Perform 24x7 monitoring of Tier1 – Tier3 servers

 Assist to ensure completion of security-related tasks,

including fixing, firmware or kernel upgrade,

hardening and patching (2nd level support only)

 Perform capacity clean up (housekeeping) to ensure

server capacity is below threshold.

 To perform task based on the Bank’s ticketing system.

 To assist new IT projects such as server

deployment, migration services, integration to the

Bank monitoring/infra tools, server IT security

scanning, end-to-end testing and day to day

operational work (BAU- Business as Usual).

 To be involved in BNM’s ticketing tools for any issue

escalation and problem-solving resolution.

 To assist on automation of current process related to

the operating system. This includes scripting based

on the case provided.

 Able to work with other vendor and Product Principal

to resolve any problem related to Windows, Red Hat

and VMware vSphere infrastructure.

 To engage professional advisory services from

product Principal for the system improvement.

 Additional scope for VMware vSphere infrastructure:

o To maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure

at optimum state at all times

o To ensure SRM replication is in-sync state

o To ensure and maintain VMware vSphere farm

resources.

o To perform fail-over and fail-back of VMs

under SRM protection and on-site standby

during Live4Run or Disaster Recovery pre-

test as per BNM request.

ii. Server Provisioning

 Assist to provision server as required by BNM

 To prepare and maintain VM templates (Windows and Red Hat)

 To install Bank related tools to the new provision server

 To perform P2V as needed (Physical to Virtual)

iii. Backup & Recovery

 Perform recovery of OS and system files whenever

required and requested.

 Quarterly OS restoration and backup restoration testing.

 Assist in backup and restoration activities including

the Bank’s Disaster Recovery (DR) activity.

iv. Security, Patch & Upgrade

 Perform VMware vSphere security patches or hot-

fixes that are related to the VMWare operating

system.

 Perform VMware version upgrade. This is inclusive

of VMware vSphere ESXi, VMware vSphere

vCenter, VMware vSphere SRM, VMware vSphere

VROps(Aria)

 Assist the Bank’s patching team on patching

activities for Windows and Red Hat security patches

or hot-fixes that are related to the server's operating

system (Level 2 support). Perform the patching task

if required.

 Perform system driver update when required.

 Verify, comply and document the operating system

servers' security settings for all servers including any

exceptions / deviations to the recommended servers’

settings.

 Test the new release of system service packs,

patches or fixes before deploying in production

environment (The Vendor shall provide the details

on method of this test)

 Maintain and update the latest system service

packs, patches or fixes.

 To perform end to end operating system upgrade

based on the requirements.

 To perform hardening based on the Bank’s

security hardening checklist guidelines.

v. Troubleshooting & Server performance

 Analyse and review system related logs and

perform server performance tuning.

 Troubleshoot, analyse, recommend and resolve

operating system problems.

 Manage problem escalation process with software

and hardware principle on any system or server

issue.

vi. Documentation

 Maintain latest inventory and documentations of

all servers’ specifications and software installed on

the server.

 Maintain latest inventory of all the servers.

 Provide documentation i.e. PM report, problem

reporting (RCA) and analysis report as per identified

format.

 To review, document and enhance current security

configuration.
