Our Strategy and Transaction (SAT) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within SAT include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modelling.

The opportunity

Our diverse team has advised on some of our largest and most complex infrastructure projects and asset management contracts working side by side with governments and the private sector to provide impactful advice and advisory services. Being part of a dynamic and energetic team, you will have the opportunity to grow your problem-solving and advisory capabilities while learning innovative approaches to address the infrastructure agenda in projects covering digital, sustainability, transport, energy and utilities.


We work on some of the highest profile and most important strategic infrastructure projects and contribute across the infrastructure lifecycle. This includes:


  • policy development and strategy
  • business case development,
  • economic, financial and commercial analysis,
  • project and programme delivery and assurance services,
  • strategic and digital transformation; and
  • taking transactions to market and supporting transaction evaluation, negotiation, execution and contract management.

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform research to inform infrastructure policy development. Specific tasks may include gathering insights from international case studies and best practice, collating & analysing relevant data, and supporting the organisation of training programs & events
  • Assist with the preparation of commercial and financial analysis for project feasibility studies. Specific tasks may include business model development, risk analysis, gathering assumptions, emissions analysis, and financial modelling
  • Support procurement and transaction advisory for clients on major infrastructure projects and transactions, including public-private partnerships
  • Provide coordination support with regional EY offices (e.g., Australia, Singapore), public & private sector clients, external advisors (e.g., technical, legal) and other relevant stakeholders on infrastructure initiatives, events, and projects
  • Assist with preparing presentation materials for business development and relationship building activities with prospective clients

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in economics. Experience working with the infrastructure and transportation sector will be highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of PPP/PFI, concessions and acquisition and project financing structures / contracts in the infrastructure sector
  • Project Financing knowledge, with understanding of project financial modelling and financing markets
  • Strong numerical, financial and modelling skills based on a well-developed understanding of financial statements
  • Sound commercial judgment and an ability to generate creative solutions to problems


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Transactions experience in a top-tier advisory firm, infrastructure service provider, investment bank, relevant government agency or other relevant sectors
  • Client facing experience from a professional services background
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, ASIA, CPA, CA and CMA, considered an advantage.
