Engineer (Proficiency in Mandarin required)

Job Description:

• Design, model, and test prototypes for products.
• Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.
• Establish design briefs both alone and in concert with customer engineering personnel.
• Analyse customer SOW’s and determine necessary resources in order to meet customer expectations.
• Create concepts, performance, and production criteria.
• Identify and select materials needed for production. Balance between performance and costs must be a key consideration.
• Produce final specifications and work with drafting resources to issue production drawings.
• Create parts lists. Include customer part numbers, vendor part numbers, and SBT part numbers.
• List costs involved in production. Focus on cost versus feature balance in order to maintain competitiveness in market.
• Make samples of working models for demonstration.
• Plan marketing initiatives for product in concert with field sales and marketing team. Be available to present products at customers and during trade shows.
• Negotiate appropriate production processes.
• Travel to production facilities to evaluate processes, working closely with manufacturing engineering to create the most efficient manufacturing processes.
• Improve usability of an item.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts.
• Proficiency in Mandarin required for communication with clients and suppliers in China.
• Any other duties as relevant will be assigned from time to time by the management.

Education Level:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Working Experience:

• 1+ years related experience or industry relevant production experience.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
• Experience in Risk Analysis such as Design/Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is desired.
• Experience in Design and Process validation is desired.
• Experience in complaint handling is a plus.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledgeable in electrical vehicles and automotive will be preferrable.
• The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and effectively communicate technical solutions.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
