Clinical Instructor

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Supervision and Teaching:

• Provide direct supervision and instruction to physiotherapy students in clinical settings (e.g., hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private practices).
• Demonstrate, observe and correct students' practical skills, ensuring they apply evidence-based physiotherapy techniques.
• Facilitate the integration of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Assess students' clinical skills, professionalism and competence throughout their clinical rotations.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students regarding their performance.
• Collaborate with academic staff to evaluate students' overall progress and ensure learning objectives are met.

Patient Management:

• Oversee students in delivering patient care under supervision, including assessment, treatment planning, implementation and documentation.
• Ensure students comply with clinical guidelines, safety protocols and ethical standards.
• Model professional behavior and communication with patients, healthcare teams and families.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated with advancements in physiotherapy practice, education and research.
• Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) activities to enhance clinical teaching effectiveness.
• Attend faculty training sessions related to clinical education and student supervision.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, performance assessments and clinical activities.
• Submit reports on student progress to academic supervisors and participate in clinical grading discussions.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or any related field.
• Valid physiotherapy license or registration with a recognized body is desirable.
• At least 1 year of clinical practice in physiotherapy.
• Experience supervising or teaching physiotherapy students is preferred.
