As the Head of Faculty, you will provide leadership and management to the faculty in order to secure high quality teaching, the effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students. You will translate the mission and long term strategy of the university to student-centered activities, research-led initiatives, business development opportunities and high quality academic portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and promote high standards in all aspects of education, particularly in student progress.
  • Actively support the vision, ethos, culture and policies of the university.
  • Ensure that effective strategies are used to support the progress of learners, inspiring and motivating students and teachers towards innovation and quality learning.
  • Develop the use of external data within the faculty as an aid to improving teaching and learning and to aid target setting with students.
  • Strategically, oversee student progress in the faculty (including the use of data) and action appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic regional, national and international partnerships and represent the faculty and university when required with a wide range of external stakeholders and organizations.
  • Oversee the strategic management of the school's teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities.
  • Lead academic programmes, drive improvement of service delivery and support through innovative use of learning and information technologies whilst maintaining quality and academic standards.

Key Requirements

  • Strategic leadership experience in providing academic leadership.
  • Experienced in managing academic governance and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Credible academic discipline, must have PhD or DBA.
  • Experienced in developing and managing relationships including professional bodies, government, funders, business, other education providers, third sector organisations and local authorities.
  • Evidence of strong intellectual capability; able to operate within a complex, structured yet challenging environment and motivate highly skilled and qualified individuals.
  • Outstanding vision, with the ability to translate this into tangible strategy; able to take tough decisions and can demonstrate the resilience necessary to overcome setbacks.
  • Proven people development capability; strong orientation towards the pursuit of continuous professional self-development.
  • Highly motivated and driven personality; an entrepreneurial self-starter who can proactively identify new opportunities; able to develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiating and influencing skills; high level of professional credibility and gravitas with ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Energetic with genuine enthusiasm for the role; ambitious and driven in his/her approach.
  • This opportunity is available to individuals authorized to work in Malaysia.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM156,000.00 - RM280,000.00 per year
