Key Responsibilities: 1. Tax Advisory: - Provide expert advice on corporate tax matters, including tax planning and compliance for various clients across different industries. - Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize clients’ tax positions while ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax laws. 2. Compliance Management: - Oversee the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, SST returns, and other related tax filings. - Ensure timely compliance with local tax regulations and manage tax audits and investigations. 3. Client Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored tax solutions. - Conduct regular meetings with clients to review tax matters and identify opportunities for tax savings. 4. Team Leadership: - Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development. - Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate training sessions for team members. 5. Research and Development: - Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and practices, and assess their impact on clients. - Develop internal knowledge sharing and training materials to enhance the team’s capabilities. - Reporting: - Prepare and present performance reports and recommendations to senior management. - Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to client service. 6. Portfolio Management: - Manage the assigned portfolio, monitoring progress and ensuring timely delivery. - Report the status of ongoing assignments to clients and senior management to meet deadlines and achieve objectives. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification such as CTA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a professional services firm. - Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and regulations. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues. - Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
