Junior System Engineer (Support Team)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system-related issues impacting our integrated solutions.
- Manage and maintain client systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Work closely with the support team to diagnose and resolve system incidents, minimizing downtime and disruption for clients.
- Implement and manage system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes as part of regular maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to prevent service interruptions.
- Collaborate with the solution integration and development teams to support system deployment and configuration.
- Ensure that all systems comply with security protocols and best practices to protect client data.
- Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolution processes to enhance the knowledge base.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotation to address urgent system issues outside of regular business hours.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in system engineering to continually improve support services.
Technical Skills and Experience Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Linux (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments. Hands-on lab or academic experience is acceptable.
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
- Exposure to network troubleshooting tools during coursework or internships is a plus.
- Basic understanding of server hardware components and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to hardware diagnostics tools or methods (academic or internship-based).
- Basic experience with server installation and configuration (academic or internship-based).
- Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, CheckMK) through internships or projects is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn system monitoring and proactive maintenance.
- Basic understanding of middleware technologies such as JBoss.
- Willingness to learn and support enterprise middleware systems.
- Basic understanding of relational databases, including MySQL or similar.
- Familiarity with database querying and basic management is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and support privileged access management tools such as MasterSAM.
- Any exposure to MasterSAM or similar PAM tools is a plus.
- General understanding of data storage concepts (e.g., local storage, basic backup practices).
- Basic understanding of security best practices (e.g., secure passwords, patch updates).
- Exposure to or interest in learning about system security protocols.
- Interest in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) with opportunities for learning on the job.
