Job responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure that workplace safety standards are up to date, ensuring continuous compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Create and review emergency response plans, safety protocols, and safety guidelines for various departments and operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and potential risks.
- Perform risk assessments and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies to ensure safe working conditions.
- Prepare and submit reports on safety inspections, hazards, accidents, and any corrective actions taken.
- Develop and conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees at all levels to ensure they understand safety regulations, emergency procedures, and best practices.
- Provide specialized training for workers handling hazardous materials or operating heavy machinery.
- Stay updated on current safety trends and regulations to ensure ongoing education for employees and the safety team.
- Investigate workplace accidents and near misses, determine their root causes, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain detailed incident records and submit reports in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead post-incident debriefings and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Foster a safety-conscious culture throughout the organization by promoting a proactive approach to workplace health and safety.
- Monitor safety performance and track key safety metrics to report to management and suggest improvements.
- Advise management on safety trends, potential legal liabilities, and improvements to company safety programs.
- Support the implementation of employee wellness programs to promote physical and mental well-being.
- Monitor workplace ergonomics to ensure that workstations and equipment are designed to minimize strain and injury.
- Promote programs aimed at reducing stress, fatigue, and other factors impacting employee health.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements, and any other relevant federal, state, and local health and safety standards.
- Prepare and manage inspections, audits, and safety records to ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Organize and participate in emergency drills (fire, first aid, evacuation) and ensure that all employees are well-informed on emergency procedures.
- Ensure first-aid kits and safety equipment are regularly inspected and restocked.
Qualification(s):
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory safety requirements.
- Certification in safety or health-related fields (e.g., OSHA certifications,
- Certified Safety Professional [CSP], or Associate Safety Professional [ASP]) is preferred.
- Possessing with valid JKKP Green Book is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of safety laws and regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
- Ability to conduct detailed safety audits and hazard assessments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Required some travel for site inspections and audits
Location:
- Rawang, Selangor and other project sites under Company.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
