About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Malaysian accountant with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualifications and a strong background in Singapore accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s financial reporting standards (SFRS), and working in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with SFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory filings and tax returns in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Accounting Operations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger processes.
- Reconcile accounts and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
- Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Handle corporate tax computations and GST (Goods and Services Tax) submissions in Singapore.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and government authorities in both countries.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.
- Advisory & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize financial strategies.
- Provide advisory on cross-border financial practices and compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic & Professional Credentials:
- ACCA qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven work experience in accounting roles with exposure to Singapore’s financial environment.
- Knowledge of Malaysian and Singaporean tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with both Malaysian and Singaporean financial markets.
- Fluency in Mandarin is mandatory to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-border or multicultural teams.
