Subject to teach: Humanities specializing in History Requirement: • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Education from an accredited University/institution. • Candidate possess professional or equivalent Teaching Qualification. • Good command of spoken and written in English. • At least 4 years of working experience in the related field and preferably experience teaching in an international school. • Preferably specializing in Education or equivalent. • Knowledge of relevant technology to enhance teaching & own administration • Capable to teach IGCSE & A level experience will be an advantage Job Description: • To teach Humanities to groups of students from all abilities across Secondary and A level. • This to include Global Perspectives of History subjects and Geography. • To plan, organize and deliver appropriate learning that promotes a ‘love of learning’ and guides and encourages students to fulfil their potential. • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities that facilitate engaging experiences and rigorous learning. • Establish and communicate clear objectives and success criteria for all learning activities. • Prepare classrooms and learning spaces for class activities. • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. • Identify and select different resources and methods to meet students' varying needs. • Assign and assess class work, homework, tests and assignments. • Provide appropriate and timely feedback to students on work. • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students. • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. • Maintain discipline in accordance with the disciplinary systems of the school. • Participate in the CCA programme, support school events, department, school meetings & parent meetings. • Keep updated with developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities. • Participate in own professional learning to enrich own practice and contributing to the professional learning of others. • To model the school core values, be an ambassador for CHIS ensure all communication in and outside of school reflects positively the reputation of CHIS.
