IKEA Malaysia is seeking a passionate Human Resource Manager who play a pivotal role in translating Ikano Retail’s global people strategy into actionable plans that drive business success and elevate the co-worker experience, working closely with the Retail Manager to ensure that HR strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with business priorities, collaborate with Store HR Managers to drive impactful people initiatives across IKEA Malaysia stores, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy while adapting to local needs.

Your assignment

  • Develop and implement a forward-looking Country People Strategy that aligns with business goals, drives organizational transformation, and ensures market leadership.
  • Work closely with the global HR team to design and implement strategic initiatives across key areas, including Rewards & Benefits, Talent & Organizational Development and Co-worker Experience.
  • Drive the HR agenda for IKEA Malaysia stores in close collaboration with Store HR Managers, ensuring the seamless execution of the people cycle, HR initiatives, and action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HR strategies into broader business operations, ensuring alignment and synergy in achieving business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a compelling EVP that positions IKEA as the employer of choice in Malaysia’s retail market, ensuring our brand resonates with top talent.
  • Lead the design and implementation of innovative talent strategies.
  • Build and sustain a high-performance culture through a strong performance management framework and learning and development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws, Ikano Retail policies, and HR standards.
  • Lead the charge on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), embedding these principles across all people and business operations.
  • Contribute to the development of the HR team by sharing innovative HR practices and insights gained from the Malaysian market, strengthening the organization’s collective knowledge.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Retail Manager, IKEA Malaysia, and the Malaysia Management Team, providing insights and recommendations that drive business success.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions during restructuring, market expansions, or operational changes.
  • Utilize HR technology and data analytics to optimize decision-making, improve workforce efficiency, and measure the success of HR initiatives.

Qualifications


Your profile

  • At least 15 years of experience in Human Resource Management or business partnering roles, ideally within the retail or manufacturing industry, with a background in managing large, complex organizations.
  • A genuine passion for the growth and development of people, with a proven track record of leadership in building and nurturing a positive, high-performance organizational culture.
  • Strong ability to persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels, fostering an environment where IKEA’s values are embraced and actively lived by a diverse workforce.
  • Extensive experience driving strategic people initiatives that directly contribute to business growth while enhancing employee experiences and engagement.
  • Business-minded with expertise in building competence frameworks, leading strategic people assignments, and aligning HR strategies with overall business goals for growth and development.
  • Demonstrates strong HR analytics skills, leveraging data to inform strategy, optimize HR processes, and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
