MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in a castor wheel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of machinery and equipment used in the production of castor wheels. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing machines to ensure smooth production operations. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, including injection molding machines, assembly lines, presses, and other machinery used in castor wheel production. Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance. Repairs & Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and repair malfunctioning machines. Replace faulty parts, such as motors, bearings, and belts, and ensure that the machines are operating at peak efficiency. Work with the production team to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness. Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent on each task. Maintain inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed. Report any critical issues or recurring problems to the Maintenance Supervisor. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including lockout/tagout, while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure that all equipment complies with safety regulations and manufacturer’s specifications. Assist in conducting regular safety audits and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in machinery and production processes. Suggest modifications or improvements to increase machine efficiency and reduce downtime. Participate in training programs and skill development workshops to stay up to date with new technologies and best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to understand machine issues and help develop solutions that optimize manufacturing output. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, production) to support smooth production workflows.
