The Position
The Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives and Transition Management (STM) is part of a team who support the execution of Organon strategies including strategic and transformational initiatives, GBS transitions and simplification initiatives, from global to markets with an emphasis on unlocking value for Organon and reimagining the ways we work,.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Initiatives and Transition Management, the incumbent will be a member of this global group, a center of excellence, serving as an internal consultant and advisor for all markets while working collaboratively as cross-functionally as required with global, regional and local market colleagues across commercial and support functions including subject matter experts, business process owners, and leadership teams.
The successful candidate will assess operational and strategic issues and develop appropriate solutions. They will need to analyze and diagnose current states, develop recommendations for improvement, and design and implement sustainable solutions that deliver business results at scale. The candidate will be able to transform processes, not just improve them, by working with and through others, to meet evolving customer and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead/support strategic initiatives that span across various domains including organizational, process, and technology improvements
Lead/support GBS transition projects in partnership with Organon functions and GBS teams in accordance to the transition playbook, from planning to execution
Navigate and manage projects effectively and efficiently, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
Engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to influence and steer the direction of key projects and initiatives
Mentor and coach team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Analyze and integrate various business systems, identifying how components fit together to drive overall business success
Measure success through business metrics, ensuring that initiatives deliver tangible results and add significant value
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelors degree
Required Experience and Skills:
- Broad understanding of transformation practices and proven track record of successfully leading and managing change
- Skilled in leading and managing projects and GBS transitions from planning to execution, leveraging appropriate project management tools
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to clearly identify, disaggregate and solve operational issues at different business levels
- Demonstrated considerable independent thinking and action to successfully scope and deliver work that delivers business impact
- Strong influencing skills, ability to work with and through others
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects and projects simultaneously while working in fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build networks and credibility across Global and local market colleagues
- Skilled in process knowledge and mapping
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS
- Minimum years of relevant business experience: 7– 9 years
- English fluency
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Working knowledge and experience in Consulting and Global Business Services
- Strong facilitation skills, ability to draw in others, work collaboratively and cross-functionally
- Strong understanding of the operational excellence toolkit (eg. Lean, Six Sigma) and Change Management approaches, including drivers of successful transformation, through application to complex business problems
- Facilitation of workshops/stakeholder events
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Awareness of Agile methodology, and believer in this way of working
- Excellent analytical skills
