Role Summary:

The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized therapy programs to enhance the mobility, physical function, and overall well-being of elderly residents. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams and families to provide patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Planning:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical abilities and mobility limitations.

- Develop personalized physiotherapy plans based on assessments, medical history, and treatment goals.

2. Therapeutic Interventions:

- Implement evidence-based physiotherapy techniques to improve residents' strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility.

- Utilize equipment, exercises, and manual therapy as required to achieve treatment objectives.

3. Resident Support:

- Provide guidance and support to residents during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort.

- Educate residents and their families on exercises and techniques to continue rehabilitation at home.

4. Monitoring Progress:

- Regularly evaluate and document residents' progress and update treatment plans as necessary.

- Identify and address any complications or barriers to effective therapy.

5. Collaboration:

- Work closely with nurses, doctors, caregivers, and other allied health professionals to ensure integrated care.

- Participate in case discussions and interdisciplinary team meetings.

6. Equipment and Facility Management:

- Maintain therapy equipment in good condition and ensure its proper use.

- Suggest new tools or methods to improve therapy outcomes.

7. Education and Training:

- Provide training to staff on basic physiotherapy techniques and fall prevention strategies.

- Stay updated on advancements in physiotherapy practices and attend relevant workshops or courses.

8. Ad-Hoc Duties:

- The Physiotherapist may also be required to assist with tasks assigned by the superior.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education and Certification:

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

- Valid license to practice as a Physiotherapist in the relevant state or country.

2. Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in geriatric physiotherapy or a similar role (preferred).

3. Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques and equipment usage.

- Strong knowledge of age-related physical conditions and rehabilitation approaches.

4. Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in elderly care.

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt therapy plans to individual needs.

Working Location: Kulai, Johor

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
