The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all safety guidelines set by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia are adhered to.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and standards.

Site Inspections:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the construction site to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is in good working condition and used correctly.
  • Ensuring contractors are working in a safe environment

Training and Education:

  • Provide safety training and education to all site personnel.
  • Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks regularly.

Incident Management:

  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain records of incidents and prepare reports for management.

Safety Programs:

  • Develop and implement safety programs and policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all workers.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Conduct regular emergency drills and ensure all personnel are familiar with emergency procedures.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Prepare and submit safety reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) by DOSH Malaysia.
  • Proven experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
