LIBRARIAN
Job Description

• Manage and maintain the library’s collection of books and digital resources to ensure that all materials are easily accessible to students, teachers, and staff.
• Assist students, teachers, and staff in locating, selecting, and utilizing library resources for academic purposes.
• Organize and catalog new library materials, ensuring proper labeling, classification, and shelving.
• Manage the checkout and return of library books and materials, ensuring accurate records and timely returns.
• Monitor and maintain the library’s physical environment, ensuring that bookshelves, reading areas, and equipment are organized and in good condition.
• Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries regarding library resources and services.
• Coordinate with teaching staff to support curriculum-related reading programs and special projects.

Job Requirements

• Educational Background: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Library Management Skills: Proficiency in library cataloging systems and experience with library management software.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to assist in resolving issues related to library resources and systems, offering clear and helpful guidance to users.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage library resources efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in cataloging, shelving, and maintaining records.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors from diverse backgrounds.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the library and integrate new resources and technologies.
• Professionalism: A professional demeanor, with a focus on customer service, confidentiality, and reliability in managing library resources.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RM2,000.00 per month
