The Financial Coconut is a leading platform dedicated to enhancing financial literacy through engaging content. We produce podcasts, articles, and social media posts that empower our audience to make informed financial decisions.
Role Overview:
As a Writer/Research Intern, you will be instrumental in developing high-quality content. You will conduct research for podcast episodes, write copies & informative pieces, and create captivating carousel posts for our social media channels. This role is perfect for those passionate about finance and content creation.
Key Responsibilities:
Copywriting and Marketing Content:
- Write persuasive copy for marketing campaigns, ads, website content, and promotional materials.
- Craft compelling headlines, taglines, and calls-to-action to capture audience attention.
- Ensure copy aligns with brand voice, tone, and messaging guidelines.
Social Media Content:
- Develop creative social media posts for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Write attention-grabbing captions, descriptions, and hashtags to maximse reach and engagement.
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices.
Guides and Instructional Content:
- Research and write comprehensive guides, how-to articles, and instructional content.
- Break down complex topics into easy-to-understand formats.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts for accurate and in-depth content.

We are looking for you if you have...
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in finance and personal development
- Prior writing or research experience is a plus
- Familiarity with social media content creation
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Language: Native-level fluency in English; ability to speak Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia is a plus but not required
Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with a strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Adaptability to write for different audiences and platforms
- Familiarity with CMS and social media platforms
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Creativity to generate fresh, engaging ideas
