MACHINING ENGINEER

JOB PRINCIPLE

Responsible for lead, manage and providing machining expertise to establish proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, programming and spare fixture engineering, for all plant production equipment as well as plant infrastructure and facilities. This function provides direct technical support for the production department to improve the overall performance of the production facility by; Developing technician effectiveness with on-the-job training, spare parts availability, implementing continual improvement projects and supporting production.

JOB PURPOSE

• Manage the machining engineering and Tool Management System (TMS), jig and tool section.
• Manage the design, implementation, NC programming, work instruction, test and startup phases of machining projects.
• Work with managers/ teams to plan and schedule project activities.
• Make improvements on the overall cycle time, tooling life vs cost, rejection reduction and cell improvements as required.
• Adjust the feeds and speeds in a process when modifying tooling or making improvements.
• Track downtime and understanding issues in machining area to develop plans for improvement.
• Implement the use of SPC and part traceability in the machining area.
• Manage the inspection, leak testing, assembly and pack out of the machined part.
• Use downtime and quality rejection data and a solid analytical approach to develop and implement continual improvement.
• Develops and maintains plant and equipment spare parts, drawings, schematics, software programs, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in related field.
• Familiar with Machining process, tooling and other related to jigs.
• Strong organizational/time management skills.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Able to multi-task and work under pressure
