Introduction:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet & Weighbridge Supervisor to join our team at the Integrated Solid Waste Management Center (ISWMC) in Penang, Malaysia. This key role involves overseeing the operations of the ISWMC fleet, workshop depot, heavy equipment, and weighbridge. The Fleet & Weighbridge Supervisor will be the knowledge custodian for these operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of all related equipment and facilities through effective maintenance, staff management, and adherence to operational standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fleet management, workshop operations, heavy equipment use, and weighbridge operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fleet & Weighbridge Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the fleet's operations, ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are maintained, operational, and comply with safety standards and ensure the smooth operation of the weighbridge.
- Supervise the daily operations of the ISWMC fleet and the daily operations of the weighbridge, including waste transport vehicles, support vehicles, and any other relevant equipment used in the facility’s operations.
- Ensure that all vehicles are regularly inspected, maintained, and serviced to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for the fleet.
- Ensure that fleet operations adhere to local regulations regarding vehicle safety, environmental standards, and operational efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate the schedule for fleet operations, ensuring that all vehicles are used efficiently and meet operational demands without overuse.
· Managing staff and labor within the fleet, workshop, and weighbridge teams.
- Supervise a team of drivers, and weighbridge personnel. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of performance and safety.
· The supervisor will ensure that all operational activities are accurately documented and reported to the relevant stakeholders.
· Responsible for managing relationships with vendors and contractors related to fleet and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with contract negotiations and manage vendor agreements for fleet and equipment services. Ensure that vendors meet the agreed-upon service levels and timelines.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure that services are provided as per contract terms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma, TVET, or Vocational Certificate in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or fleet management.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in fleet management, heavy equipment operations, or workshop supervision. Experience in waste management or industrial operations is highly desirable.
- Strong documentation skills with an understanding of good practices in record-keeping, reporting, and compliance management.
- Experience in managing staff and labor, including performance management, training, and scheduling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, vendors, and management.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From RM1,700.00 per month
