Job No. 493326 POSITION PURPOSE A Level B academic is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the university and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline. The key result areas of Research, Teaching and Engagement are the basis for the primary duties and responsibilities of the role. A workload will be agreed annually with the Head of School during the Performance Development Plan process. Other duties may be required from time to time as directed by the Head of School. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate units. 2. Deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students. 3. Conduct original research, develop an active record of publication and start to build a profile of grants and supervision. 4. Participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence. 5. Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the School through, for example, participation in committees. 6. Undertake administrative responsibilities primarily connected with the units taught, including course review, admission, and accreditation processes. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science. 2. Demonstrated ability to teach in a university environment. 3. Proven ability, commitment, and passion for engaging in scholarly and research activities/projects. 4. Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervision of Undergraduate/Honours students. 5. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork, with the ability to work with partners in universities, government, and/or civil society 6. Professional qualification as a Malaysian registered pharmacist (added advantage), along with postdoctoral and/or industrial experience (added advantage) 7. A pharmacist or pharmaceutical scientist with proven knowledge of formulations and pharmaceutics matching the existing strengths of the discipline.
