The ideal hire will provide administrative assistance to lawyers at all stages of the litigation process. This will include managing and organising large volumes of documents, coordinating the collection and review of documentary evidence, drafting simple legal documents from templates provided, and providing administrative support to lawyers.
The Litigation Support Paralegal also works closely with clients and other legal professionals to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of matters.
The position is fully remote and based in Malaysia (preferably Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, or Johor Bahru), with opportunities for flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and arrange for consultations with lawyers from the back-end;
- Take notes during meetings with Leads and Clients, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality;
- Manage and organise large volumes of documents with respect to the litigation support process;
- Assist in drafting legal documents from templates provided;
- Liaise and communicate with Clients and lawyers in a timeous manner with respect to the coordination of case files;
- Prepare and maintain a documentation checklist pertaining to trial documents; and
- Provide general administrative support to lawyers and other team members as required.
Requirements
- Candidates should reside in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor or Johor Bahru.
- Degree in any discipline and/or a professional qualification (i.e., Qualifications in LL.B, Paralegal Certificate, or other legal qualifications is beneficial, but not compulsory);
- Previous paralegal or litigation support experience in a law firm or in-house setting (Beneficial, but not compulsory);
- Proficiency and familiarity with Matrimonial Law or an accountancy / book-keeping background (Beneficial, but not compulsory);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin;
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritise work;
- Strong organisational skills, detail-oriented and possess an organised approach to problem-solving;
- Good computer literacy, with a strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Ability to manage deadlines and projects under pressure;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; and
- Professional demeanor and commitment to providing excellent Client service.
