Tax Reconciliation Analyst
As the Tax Reconciliation Analyst at FNZ, you will play a critical role in supporting the FNZ Platform applications to ensure accurate client tax reporting and compliance. This position primarily involves assisting our experienced Senior Tax Analysts in maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, managing tax-related client outcomes, and ensuring robust reporting processes. You will actively support the taxation team with research, documentation, and administrative tasks that contribute to efficient tax reporting.

In addition, you'll participate in the preparation and review of client tax documents, such as IDPS Tax Statements and Superannuation Fund Tax Returns, ensuring they meet all regulatory and client-specific requirements. Working with a supportive, experienced team, as the Taxation Analyst will benefit from collaboration and guidance to help them succeed in the role.

The responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in the preparation and assurance of platform processes and data required to complete client annual tax reporting, including IDPS Tax Statements, Superannuation Fund Tax Returns and Member tax processes.
  • Assist on tax issues for Australian Operations, including all tax related matters for assets held in global markets in which our clients invest.
  • Completion of recording of tax events on the platform against client accounts.
  • Support reviews of the assurance of procedures and controls for roles within the tax team, in line with both GS007 audit requirements and relevant business rules and applicable ATO tax requirements of the client Platforms.
  • Communication relating to tax matters with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Participation in project teams across FNZ on improvements to platforms, e.g. working with Solution Consultants or Developers on required system changes for tax.
  • Maintain accurate records of tax-related documents, correspondence, and filings to ensure compliance and facilitate audits
  • Assist in preparing documentation and information required for internal and external audits related to taxation.
  • Communicate & liaise with tax authorities and respond to inquiries or requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and training to staff on tax compliance procedures and policies.
  • Identification of tax issues and/or development (legislative of otherwise), and implementation of solutions to manage and/or mitigate impact to business and client.
  • Prepare regular reports on tax obligations, compliance status, and key metrics for management review.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance or Economic) is preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in financial services operations
  • Hands on experience in reconciliation & analysis is preferred.
  • Bonus point if having knowledge of Australian taxation policies and Superannuation (Not required)
  • High level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence, possessing strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability be able to assess data or situations from multiple angles and make decisions and ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
