Position Overview The Sport and Recreation Assistant supports the daily operations and activities of sports and recreation facilities. This role involves assisting with programs, ensuring the safety of participants, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Facility Operations Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of sports and recreation equipment and facilities. Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of all areas, including courts, pools, and outdoor spaces. Monitor facility usage and enforce rules to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. 2. Program Support Assist in organizing, promoting, and running sports and recreation programs or events. Provide hands-on support during training sessions, tournaments, and community activities. Act as a point of contact for participants, answering questions and offering guidance. 3. Equipment Management Distribute and collect sports equipment, ensuring proper usage and handling. Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure functionality. Keep inventory records of supplies and report any needs or damages. 4. Safety and Security Monitor participant activities to ensure adherence to safety guidelines. Administer basic first aid if needed and report any accidents or incidents. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all activities and facilities. 5. Customer Service Welcome and assist facility users, providing information on programs, schedules, and services. Address customer inquiries, feedback, or complaints professionally and promptly. Assist with memberships or bookings, ensuring accurate records and transactions. 6. Administrative Tasks Maintain attendance logs, program schedules, and incident reports. Assist in preparing promotional materials or updates for activities and events. Collaborate with supervisors to improve program delivery and participant experience. 7. Additional Duties Support other departments or perform additional tasks as assigned. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development programs.
