Specific Responsibilities
1. To secure new and repeat business by means of personal sales call (average 6 calls a day), telephone contact and written and written communication. In doing systematically to maximize use of time, promotion, money and entertainment.
2. Be responsible in achieving the monthly/annual target room nights based on the accounts/areas/markets assigned by servicing accounts and developing new business. To be responsible for updating the monthly/yearly room nights production figures of all supporters.
3. To make constructive suggestions on special sales action plans or sales promotion revision to meet the competition, increase bookings, improve sales efforts and servicing.
4. Actively involved and participate in all sales related promotion e.g.: major travel functions, cocktail parties or sales and public relations functions.
5. Assists in implementation of effective sales systems and procedures that ensure efficient execution of all group meetings and functions and provides the efficient functioning of the hotels local sales efforts, overall.
6. Plans and executes sales trips to major market areas and reports to the Marketing Manager on new potential market areas that should be covered.
7. Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone and recommend direct mail campaigns to reach specific markets.
8. Handle market research and analyses market changes, provide feedback to the Marketing Manager, and under the direction of the Marketing Manager implements programs with the sales department to meet these changes, i.e. changes brought about by political, economic or competitive changes in the market place, including trends in the competitions.
9. Organize familiarization / site inspection trips to hotels by major clients.
10. Responsible for dissemination of sales related information to other department as appropriate. Coordinate communication between Sales Department and operating departments of the hotel. To update operating departments of the hotel to ensue awareness of bookings and sales programs.
11. Reports and inform the Marketing Manager of sales activities, progress and bookings, communicate closely on any matters of special handling and unusual developments.
12. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, staff and employees.
13. Attend Sales & Marketing, pre/post functions, meeting and participate actively with relevant information of sales activities and feedback in regards to client needs.
14. Submit a weekly reports and monthly report detailing all activities over the period. The weekly report to be submitted on every Saturday and monthly report by the seventh day of the new month.
15. Establishes and maintains files on major hotel accounts he / she has established and set up and maintain the sales central filing system.
16. To perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: RM1,500.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
