Job Summary: The Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) will support the Vice Chancellor in providing academic, strategic, and administrative leadership at the university. The DVC will oversee various academic and administrative functions, work closely with senior leadership, and ensure the effective implementation of the university's mission, vision, and goals. The role includes leadership in areas such as academic development, research initiatives, policy formation, and external relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership:
- Provide academic leadership in collaboration with Deans and faculty members.
- Develop, implement, and assess academic programs, ensuring alignment with university goals and standards.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, continuous learning, and student success.
- Strategic Planning and Development:
- Assist the Vice Chancellor in the development and implementation of the university’s strategic plan.
- Identify new academic and research opportunities to expand the university’s footprint.
- Work with external stakeholders to promote the university’s academic and research capabilities.
- Research and Innovation:
- Lead and enhance research initiatives and collaborations with industry and other academic institutions.
- Support the development of a research agenda that promotes innovation and academic advancements.
- Oversee research funding and grant opportunities.
- Administrative Leadership:
- Manage and supervise academic departments, ensuring smooth operational functioning.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure efficient administration of university operations.
- Lead key university-wide projects and initiatives.
- Staff and Faculty Development:
- Lead faculty recruitment, retention, and development programs.
- Foster a positive academic environment conducive to professional growth.
- Coordinate faculty training and development opportunities.
- External Relations:
- Represent the university in external forums, including academic conferences, industry engagements, and government meetings.
- Foster partnerships and collaborations with other institutions, businesses, and government agencies.
- Promote the university’s academic programs to prospective students, parents, and external partners.
- Policy and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with academic policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Contribute to the development and review of university policies, procedures, and governance.
- Student Engagement:
- Ensure that academic and student services are aligned to enhance the overall student experience.
- Address student issues related to academic performance, program choices, and student life.
Qualifications:
- A Doctoral degree in a relevant academic discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in academic leadership, with a proven track record of success in senior management roles at a higher education institution.
- Strong strategic, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in research management and academic program development.
- A deep understanding of the higher education landscape and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in budget management, academic planning, and institutional governance.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
