Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management
1.1 Lead and supervise lab technicians and staff, ensuring efficient performance and productivity.
1.2 Provide training and development to lab staff on calibration procedures, safety protocols, and new technologies.
1.3 Conduct performance evaluations and support career growth within the team.
2. Calibration Process Oversight
2.1 Ensure all calibration processes and procedures meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
2.2 Coordinate and perform equipment calibration and testing across various instruments and systems.
2.3 Maintain accurate records of calibration procedures, results, and certifications.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
3.1 Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure calibration accuracy and reliability.
3.2 Ensure compliance with ISO standards, national/international calibration standards, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
3.3 Conduct audits and inspections of calibration processes to identify areas for improvement.
4. Equipment and Facility Management
4.1 Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab equipment and instruments.
4.2 Ensure proper calibration lab environment (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) to maintain accuracy and reliability.
4.3 Keep track of inventory, order calibration materials, and ensure that necessary equipment is available and in optimal condition.
5. Customer Support & Communication
5.1 Communicate with clients to understand calibration needs and ensure timely delivery of services.
5.2 Address and resolve customer complaints, concerns, or issues related to calibration accuracy or turnaround time.
5.3 Provide technical support and advice to clients on calibration requirements and standards.
6. Reporting & Documentation
6.1 Ensure proper documentation of calibration activities, test reports, certificates, and compliance records.
6.2 Prepare regular reports on lab performance, including equipment status, calibration schedules, and customer feedback.
6.3 Maintain up-to-date records of calibration certificates for all relevant instruments.
7. Safety & Environmental Health
7.1 Enforce health and safety regulations within the lab to ensure a safe working environment.
7.2 Ensure that all calibration activities are conducted with proper safety precautions and in compliance with environmental health regulations.
8. Budget and Resource Management
8.1 Assist in preparing and managing the lab budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost control.
8.2 Monitor lab expenditures and recommend cost-effective solutions for calibration processes and equipment.
