Job Summary

Manages the development and start-up of one or more products and coordinates the marketing and support efforts for the product or group. Typically manages 2 or more specialized departments comprised of supervisors, managers, professionals, and/or large numbers of operational support employees.

Job Description


  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for development teams; managing, motivating, and developing project and team leaders.
  • Assisting advisors in recommending optimum design solutions on special projects and ensuring design is compatible with customer requirements and within manufacturing limitations and sound engineering practices.
  • Preparing and managing research and development (R&D) budget; obtaining funding for special projects. Developing, implementing, and monitoring new and innovative R&D approaches, tools, and techniques.
  • Evaluating and addressing market needs and demands by modification and upgrading of products. Monitoring design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
