Role of a Protégé:
Learning and Development
- Gain insight into procurement strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Observe and participate in planning, executing, and monitoring procurement processes within the construction industry.
- Learn to analyze market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and understand procurement-related compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing purchase orders, procurement plans, and tender documents under mentor guidance.
Supportive Tasks
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
- Help in maintaining accurate procurement records, including supplier contracts, invoices, and delivery schedules.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in procurement documentation or supplier deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to streamline the procurement process.
Cost and Budget Management
- Contribute to cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting related to procurement activities.
- Learn to analyze and manage cost variations and provide input for budget optimization.
Compliance and Ethics
- Understand and adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements in procurement activities.
- Support the mentor in ensuring ethical procurement practices, including transparent vendor selection and conflict-of-interest management.
