Summary

To plan, develop and roll out strategies and activities by having strategic or commercial alliances with stakeholders in the SEA. The travel trade marketing strategy mission and approach are:

Mission:

  • Aggressive trade marketing and activities towards changing the perception of the KSA. Restricted destination or challenging to explore will be our key main driver to increase awareness, grow leisure market share, Umrah Plus, MICE and increase visitation to the Kingdom.

Approach:

  • Trade agent focus – Through engagements via sales visits, webinars, seminars, and appointments as our marketing collaborators.
  • Saudi stakeholder focus – Identify our stakeholders' potential and develop suitable and ready products for SEA markets.
  • Consumer focus – Partnering with airlines, trade partners, and associations via cross promotions, consumer fairs, and consumer marketing to increase KSA visibility to the SEA markets.

Prime Function

  • Reporting to the Country Manager, the scope of this position includes database management, social media/newsletter and supporting the Country Manager on the product development for leisure, umrah, Umrah Plus, business travel or special interests in the SEA markets

Key Duties & Responsibilities

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT - Commitment Level: High

1. Develop and ensure successful relationships with top stakeholders (hotels, vendors and DMCs)

2. Respond to inquiries and requests for information by stakeholders professionally to uphold corporate image while maintaining the standard response time.

3. Negotiate deals with stakeholders to ensure the best return on investment.

4. Establish and manage long-term relationships with stakeholders and identify opportunities for new partners.

5. Ensure positive customer relationship management (CRM) through database management and gather intelligence insight for program content continuous improvement.

6. Maintain a prompt, accurate follow-up and trace system for all correspondences.

7. The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing.

8. Exercise tact and diplomacy to express disagreement without offending stakeholders.

9. Regular reports as identified and ad hoc briefing where applicable.

RESOURCE CENTER & E-NEWSLETTER - Commitment Level: High

1. Contribute towards brand and reputation building, including seeking and analysing appropriate information and news from the industry that impact STA as a whole.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & ENHANCEMENT - Commitment Level: High

1. To define the product strategy and roadmap to improve product competitiveness.

2. Conduct market research and keep abreast of new developments, new market players and market trends.

3. Look into the expansion of product development by analysing markets which translate into potential service offerings for the trade partners.

4. To manage stakeholders in ensuring agreed service delivery standards besides maintaining close rapport with them.

5. Work on product development and analysis.

6. Ability to work closely with DMCs and tour operators to create customised products that would appeal to source markets.

OTHERS RELATED TASK - Commitment Level: High

1. Meeting the yearly KPIs and result targets set by the management.

2. In depth of market views and intelligence globally

3. Organization of Sales Mission, familiarisation trips and events.

4. Represent the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) in an event, seminar, and/or meetings related to Saudi Arabia.

5. Submission of report or briefing on seminar, product briefing, and/or meeting attended.

6. The capacity to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify the key issues, establish and evaluate alternative courses of action and produce a logical, practical and acceptable solution(s).

7. Continuous understanding of the business process and the ability to consistently align your initiatives to the Company’s goals and strategies.

8. Monitor the trends and maintain knowledge about current industry updates, industry practices, laws and regulations.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS - Commitment Level: High

1. Direct report on key responsibilities and duties to the Country Manager.

2. Establish and maintain synergy with other team members within the team/department to ensure market awareness for the COMPANY brand and reputation.

3. Sharing insights and intelligence for future development programs.

4. Internal coordination and support for all STA team members.

Communication/Relationship with:

  • External Trade Partners, Stakeholders, Vendors
  • Internal VP Commercial, Market Director, Market Manager, STA Employees

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,700.00 per month
