Global Debt Markets Derivatives Trade Processing Management is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in Rates trading life cycle management. Our global team of Middle Office professionals partner with the business to provide accurate, efficient, timely and controlled trade validation, ensuring seamless downstream processing. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager - Processing.
The Opportunity:
(This will be a 12 Months Contract Role)
What you’ll do:
- Provide high quality Trade Reconciliation Investigation service to the Middle Office Desk Support, Front Office business and onshore Operations for Interest Rates Derivative products across London and Paris as per agreed service agreements. The role also acts as a support function to the business and is responsible for various internal projects and activities related to PRA Requirement on reconciliations and control. He/She works closely with the Global Product Owner and supports in the planning/implementation of various strategic initiatives in making sure that regulatory and market changes are understood and implemented with relevant business cases in place.
- Support the T-Zero Programme Project team in GSC Malaysia with primary task to deliver PRA regulatory requirement on enhancements to Reconciliation and Controls.
- Support the execution and delivery of project, timely without any post-delivery issues. Providing frequent and timely update and escalations as and when appropriate.
- Support the GDM Change Request along with the Product Owner and Project Team to identify critical enhancement for funding prioritization. Ensure JIRA is completed for each change request and kept up to date.
- As the SME, to closely understand what needs to be achieved, ensuring requirements are clear and understood.
- Oversee UAT and Prod Parallel for reconciliations new build and enhancements.
- Raise trade discrepancies to middle office and ensure outstanding queries are chased and resolved timely.
- Unrecognized trades are investigated and prioritized as risk to ensure they are mitigated.
- Responsible to update end of day population in MI Dashboard.
- Investigate and prioritise aging / high risk items.
- Ensure the escalation of all problems/risk issues within their area to the respective stakeholders and the appropriate levels of management as per escalation matrix, in a timely manner.
- Ensure effective management of risk and controls in line with the Risk Management Control Framework.
- Work towards improving process KPIs and bright lines through the efficient use of strategic solutions.
- Identify control gaps and implement steps to mitigate risk in an environment of capacity constraints.
- Continually challenge procedures, checklists and performance measures to ensure our delivery to clients are optimized.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Implement and ensure adherence to the Group Privacy, Control and Compliance Policies, applicable to their role.
- Adhere to the group requirement that each employee is aware of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with their role and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- A minimum of a BA/BS/BC degree.
- Strong culture of ethics and integrity.
- Ability to speak and understand English fluently with exceptional business communication skills.
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills as well as a strong eye for detail are required.
- Ability to perform well in a fast pace and high pressure environment against tight timelines.
- Strong Derivatives Operations background with knowledge of OTC Derivatives products are preferred.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, procedures and controls as well as of front to back trade lifecycle
- Strong knowledge in trade level reconciliation and investigation.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Previous experience in Middle Office, Confirmations or Settlements roles will be an added advantage.
- Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge effectively and accurately.
- Evidence of process management knowledge with an ability to independently initiate process improvements and encourage the same in others.
- Knowledge of MS Office coupled with good numerical and analytical skills – be able to understand, analyze, and communicate data in a concise, logical and visually stimulating form.
- Ability to see the big picture and drive strategic objectives without losing attention to detail.
- Summit, Markitwire, DTP Calypso, TREATS or other PTS/BO systems experience preferred.
