Key Responsibilities: • NPI Process Development: o Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring that they meet quality, cost, and production timelines. o Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review product designs, ensuring they are manufacturable and optimized for production efficiency. o Define and establish process flows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new product introduction. o Lead the design and setup of production lines for new products, including tooling, fixtures, and equipment. • Cross-functional Collaboration: o Work closely with R&D, Design, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth product transitions from concept to manufacturing. o Communicate with global teams to resolve any issues that arise during the NPI process, ensuring that production schedules are met without compromising quality. o Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams to troubleshoot any issues during the NPI process. • Process Validation and Optimization: o Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analysis to ensure that new products are easy to produce and assemble. o Perform process capability studies, identifying key variables affecting product performance and quality. o Develop and implement process controls to ensure high-quality output, identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. • Quality and Compliance: o Ensure that new products meet regulatory standards, industry best practices, and internal quality standards. o Perform risk assessments (e.g., Failure Mode and Effects Analysis – FMEA) on new processes and products to identify potential issues and mitigation strategies. o Coordinate with Quality Control teams to ensure proper validation and testing of new products. • Project Management: o Manage and oversee the NPI timelines, ensuring that all activities are completed on schedule, and new products are introduced to the production line on time. o Monitor and report on NPI project status, identifying any delays or challenges and proposing solutions to mitigate them. • Training and Knowledge Transfer: o Conduct training sessions for local engineers, technicians, and production teams on the NPI processes, tools, and best practices. o Facilitate knowledge transfer from the NPI team to the production team to ensure smooth handover once a product is fully introduced to the manufacturing line. o Maintain a repository of NPI best practices, lessons learned, and process documentation to facilitate continuous learning Key Requirements: Education and Experience: • Education: o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: o 5-7 years of experience in NPI, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering, particularly in the EMS or electronics manufacturing industry. o Proven track record of managing new product introductions, including process setup, validation, and optimization. o Experience with key manufacturing processes such as SMT (Surface Mount Technology), PCB assembly, and final assembly operations. o Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams and customers to translate product designs into manufacturable processes. 2. Skills and Competencies: • Technical Skills: o Strong knowledge of NPI processes, manufacturing workflows, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles. o Expertise in process optimization, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis methodologies. o Proficiency in manufacturing process simulation tools and CAD software. o Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. o Experience with industrial standards like IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 for electronics manufacturing. • Project Management Skills: o Strong project management abilities to handle complex NPI timelines, budgets, and cross-functional dependencies. o Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and prioritize competing demands effectively. • Soft Skills: o Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. o Leadership skills to guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians. o Adaptability to thrive in fast-paced environments and solve challenges creatively. 3. Certifications (Preferred): • Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) or experience in Lean Manufacturing. • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2). • Certification in Electronics Manufacturing Standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar. • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or related manufacturing quality standards
