This role will challenge you to combine both hard skills: applying technical knowledge in a legal framework; and soft skills: interfacing with clients to understand and meet their objectives. Key Responsibilities Reviewing invention disclosures, conducting pre-drafting searches including prior art, novelty, invalidity, and freedom to operate, and liaising with inventors to draft patent specifications. Drafting patents, filing and prosecuting patent applications. Reviewing specifications, search, and examination reports. Advising on strategies and courses of action available to clients. Assisting clients with the prosecution of their patents in Malaysia and overseas. Assisting with patent docketing management Any other matters/projects that the management may require assistance with from time to time. Requirements A diploma and/or bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or other technological field. Post-doctoral and/or industry experience would be valued but not essential. One or two years of experience in IP would also be valued but not essential. Strong command of verbal and written English. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A good team player with a positive working attitude in working cross-functionally in different contexts is essential. Be able to work independently and with other team members within the firm. Be resourceful, possess strong interpersonal skills, and can manage business demands proactively. Experience and interest in managing and growing the practice. Strong willingness to learn independently about technologies in various fields and to adapt to changes in patent practice. Ability to manage workflow and prioritize deadlines, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills. ………………………………………………………………………………….. Trademark Associate ………………………………………………………………………………….. Key Responsibilities Reviewing trademark disclosures, conducting searches and liaising with clients. Reviewing specifications, search, and examination reports. Advising on strategies and courses of action available to clients. Assisting clients with the prosecution of their trademark in Malaysia and overseas. Assisting with trademark docketing management. Support legal counsel in oppositions, cancellations, and cease and desist letters. Any other matters/projects that the management may require assistance with from time to time. Requirements A diploma and/or bachelor's degree in any field. Post-doctoral and/or industry experience would be valued but not essential. One or two years of experience in IP would also be valued but not essential. Strong command of verbal and written English. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
