About the role

As a Junior Pastry Chef at Nareo Donut, you will be supporting the preparation and production of donuts. This role typically requires some formal culinary training or previous experience in a kitchen setting. This is a full-time role based in our Petaling Jaya, Selangor location. You will be integral to the success of our bakery, ensuring the consistent delivery of delicious treats to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Frying: Assist in the preparation fillings, mixing, frying donuts following recipes and quality standards.
  • Product Presentation: Ensure all products are presented beautifully and according to the establishment's standards.
  • Ingredient Management: Measure and mix ingredients as per recipe requirements, ensuring consistency in texture, flavor, and appearance.
  • Daily Operations: Assist senior pastry chefs in the daily operation.
  • Stock and Inventory: Help maintain an organized and clean kitchen by ensuring that ingredients and supplies are stocked, rotated, and stored properly.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices, keeping the pastry kitchen clean and organized.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and servers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A culinary degree or certification in pastry arts is preferred but not always required. Equivalent on-the-job training can be considered.
  • Basic Culinary Skills: Knowledge of pastry techniques, including mixing, piping, molding, and decorating desserts.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on presentation and consistency in the quality of the desserts produced.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining quality.
  • Creativity: An interest in developing new ideas for pastries and desserts.

Working Conditions:

  • Schedule: May involve early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
