Job Description
At ReadingLAB, our mission is to mentor children ages 4 to 17 in reading (English storybooks), discussion, essay writing, and more. As a mentor, your role includes:
- For Young Children: Teaching foundational reading skills, including phonics, to help them begin their reading journey.
- For Older Children: Building strong reading habits, enhancing reading fluency, deepening comprehension, and fostering both verbal and written storytelling skills.
- For Teens: Encouraging a broad range of reading (from classics like Edgar Allan Poe to modern authors like Neil Gaiman), analyzing texts, leading discussions on thought-provoking topics, and guiding students in crafting thoughtful, opinion-driven essays.
Beyond classroom mentoring, your responsibilities include lesson planning, grading, updating progress reports, attending training sessions and mock classes, writing lesson reviews, meeting with parents or customers, preparing for extracurricular events, collaborating with senior mentors on reports and lesson plans, and recording videos for progress reviews and promotional content.
Our mentoring is offered both online and in person. Currently, we are seeking in-person mentors.
Job Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English (preferably with minimal grammatical errors).
- A passion for working with children.
- Willingness to train in innovative methods for mentoring and teaching English (and potentially Bahasa Malaysia).
- Avid readers are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications Required
Candidates should possess at least one of the following: Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree.

Pay: RM2,600.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
