Job Summary:
The Technician 2 is responsible for maintaining and repairing the hotel’s infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other mechanical systems. This role ensures that all systems are functioning smoothly to provide a comfortable and safe environment for hotel guests and staff. The Technician 2 will support the hotel’s engineering team in executing maintenance schedules, responding to service requests, and adhering to safety and quality standards, in alignment with the high standards of a 5-star hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and kitchen equipment.
- Respond promptly to in-house service requests, providing timely solutions for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, plumbing issues, air conditioning, and heating systems.
- Guest Room & Public Area Support:
- Ensure that guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working condition, promptly repairing any faults in lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, or electronics.
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet 5-star standards.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized, following hotel guidelines for safety and cleanliness.
- Report any hazardous conditions, defective equipment, or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
- Equipment & Systems:
- Operate and maintain equipment such as elevators, pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
- Monitor and adjust hotel systems such as temperature control, water supply, and lighting to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with the Engineering team to complete daily maintenance tasks, special projects, and renovations.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, including repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with inventory management for tools, equipment, and materials.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to guest and department requests with professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy, ensuring minimal disruption to their stay.
- Assist with guest-related issues (e.g., malfunctioning equipment) by resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, or Plumbing) preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a technical or maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of safety standards and codes related to hotel engineering operations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team and interact with guests when necessary.

Pay: From RM2,000.00 per month
