Wego is a Technology Group operating in the online travel industry with a global footprint and operations across Asia and the Middle East. As we continue to grow and expand our business, we are seeking an experienced and exceptional Accountant to support our operations in Malaysia, as well as our e-commerce business in Singapore.

Job Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the finance functions supporting the operations in Malaysia. The successful candidate will report directly to HQ Office in Singapore and work closely with the local General Managers as well as other members of the Group’s global Finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the GL function.
• Oversee AR function ensuring accurate & timely record of financial transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet schedules on monthly basis.
• Manage and ensure timely proper month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare full sets of financial statements for management and statutory reporting.
• Manage SST filling and corporate tax compliance.
• Oversee the coordination and execution of the local audit, monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory financial reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with all financial and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with HQ to manage local operations working capital needs and prepare cash flow forecast.
• Stay updated on FRS requirements, ensuring timely implementation and compliance.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accountancy. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in finance and accounting roles in a similar capacity, including some years of audit experience.
• Prior experience in the online travel agency industry preferred.
• Experience with working in fast paced environment.
• Strong understanding of financial standards, local regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
