Job Overview:

Responsible for basic instrumentation engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work on a McDermott project. Work includes (but not limited to) 3D model development and / or AVEVA instrumentation database development along with associated instrument index maintenance, instrument data sheet and calculation development and supplier document review of vendor packages.

Looking for fresh graduates in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electrical and Electronics engineering or Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering who have a flair in use of software tools. Previous knowledge of software tools such Solidworks, AutoCAD 3D will be an advantage. Selected candidates will be provided on-the job training and are expected to work on projects and handle job scope typically handled by designers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the development of key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:
    • 3D model
    • Vessel Level Sketches
    • Instrument Index
    • Wiring and termination
    • Loop drawings
  • Participate in project reviews, including (but not limited to) the following:
    • P&ID Reviews
  • Development and support of vendor packages, including (but not limited to) the following:
    • Create requisition packages for basic instrumentation
    • Perform the review of supplier documents for basic instrumentation and mechanical packages
  • Site support, including (but not limited to) the following:
    • Provide technical support to Construction personnel for I&C engineering related inquiries as needed

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Accredited engineering degree may be required by specific regions
  • Typically 0 - 1 years of I&C engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines, including ISA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI and API
  • Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), AVEVA Instrumentation, MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
  • Experience in any 3D model software

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Prefer BSEE, BSCE or BSME degree
  • Prefer experience at site during construction and commissioning
