Responsibilities:
- Handling the Corporate Tax Compliance, Withholding Tax (“WHT”), Sales and Service Tax (“SST”), Goods and Services Tax (“GST”), Transfer Pricing, Country by Country Reporting (“CBCR”), The Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) 2.0 for YGT Group within Malaysia and Singapore.
- To prepare Corporate Tax Return, Service Tax Return, Withholding Tax Return, Goods and Services Tax Return of YGT Group, inclusive of tax submission monitoring to ensure it is completed within the stipulated timeline and in accordance with the tax laws and regulations.
- Ensure proper Transfer Pricing Documentations are prepared in accordance with the Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
- Monitoring the deadlines of tax payments to avoid penalties of late payment to be imposed by the Inland Revenue Board (“IRB”), Royal Malaysia Customs Department (“RMCD”) and Inland Revenue Authorities Singapore (“IRAS”).
- To prepare quarterly YGT Group provisional tax computation.
- To assist in general tax advisory and tax planning to optimise the Company’s tax benefits in accordance with tax laws.
- To assist in the reviewing of BEPS 2.0 and CBCR for YGT Group.
- To assist in contract review to ensure compliance to local tax rules and optimizing the Company’s overall tax position.
- Review and perform preliminary tax due diligence on potential deals to identify tax risks and opportunities (if any).
- Manage ad-hoc tax-related matters and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Identify and implement improvements in tax processes and controls.
- Work with various internal stakeholders where applicable to foster a culture of delivery and excellence.
- Liaise with local tax authorities to secure applicable incentives and grants (where applicable).
- Able to work with external tax agents and advisor on tax audit cases/investigations (if any).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Accountancy or ICAEW/ ACCA / MICPA/ CA ANZ/ CPA qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting firms, preferable from Big 4 accounting firm or a large organization with an in-house tax function.
- Sound knowledge of taxation in Malaysia especially on the tax legislation, tax administrations& practices, Regulations and Public Rulings.
- Experience in Singapore Taxation is an added advantage.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia both verbally and written.
- Proactive and able to work in a team as well as independently.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex matters concisely and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
