Purpose
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing the inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of goods received and dispatched. This role ensures stock accuracy and data integrity, supports production lines with material issuance, and oversees shipment-related documentation. The position is crucial for maintaining efficient logistics flow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Post goods received and issued into the SAP system, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
- Liaise with Buyers and Planners to resolve any discrepancies in purchase and work order issues.
- Maintain the integrity of stock levels by verifying goods received against purchase orders and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Oversee the preparation and packaging of small shipments to ensure prompt release.
- Coordinate shipment system closing and generate shipment reports, ensuring accurate and timely updates for outbound logistics.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure smooth shipment operations and compliance with delivery schedules.
- Ensure that work orders are kitted, issued to production lines, and flushed promptly to avoid production delays.
- Collaborate with the production team to monitor and manage material flow for work orders.
- Ensure that stock and data integrity are upheld through accurate inventory counts, updates, and reconciliations.
- Assist with periodic cycle counts and physical stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Report any discrepancies in received goods, shipping processes, or non-compliant activities to relevant departments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues that arise from discrepancies or non-conformities in inventory or shipment.
- Participate in and assist with store improvement projects aimed at optimizing the efficiency of shipping, receiving, and overall logistics processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant certifications in shipping, warehousing, or logistics management will have an advantage.
- At least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics operations, preferably within a fast-paced multinational manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP, for inventory and shipment processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for reporting and documentation.
- Good oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams (e.g., production, procurement) and external logistics partners
