Policies and Procedure: -Assist the Head of Therapy in establishing, implementing and administering unit policies and procedures in accordance to MSQH Service Standards Clinical: -Participate in the development of clinical practice guidelines -Assess patients with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitation, disabilities or other health related conditions using detailed history taking, as well as specific tests and measures for screening, establishing a diagnosis and monitoring change. Training and education: -Participate and conducts clinical in-service training to Physiotherapist and Rehab Assistants -Conduct general orientation of new staff of Rehab Centre Administrative Management: -Ensure that Rehab equipment and modalities in use are clean and safe and regularly maintained for safety as per professional and organizational standards of practice -Collate and maintain Physiotherapy inventory card Research and Development: -Conduct activity for improvement as well as a quality indicator -Undertaken surveys and audits in own waork area -Participate in clinical audits as required and action findings Communication and Relationships: -Patient will have a range of medical and psychosocial problems that require the physiotherapist to utilize motivational and persuasive skills to facilitate rehabilitation bot in an individual and group setting Decisions and Judgements: -To act independently to make complex clinical decisions relating to assessment, differential diagnosis, planning and implementing and evaluating treatment programmers leading to discharge Planning and Organisation: -Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise workloads-able to multi-task as well as be self-desciplined and highly motivated Physical, Mental, Emotional and Environmental demands: -Skills to perform a wide range of physiotherapeutic manual techniques -Direct manual handling of patients, with due regard for own safety, including maneuvering patients, carrying equipment, pushing wheelchairs, arranging seating required on a daily basis -High level of concentration needed for prolonged periods on a daily basis. This is required in order to make clinical decisions during all aspects of assessment and treatment taking into account any cultural/linguistic differences. -Communicating frequently with distressed/anxious/worried and emotionally demanding patients/families -Working within infection control and health and safety guidelines in order to deal appropriately with highly unpleasant conditions related to patient contact as they arise; including frequent exposure to saliva, body fluids, odors and head lice
