About Us:

Miles Autism Academy is an autism centre providing a variety of services catering to different family needs, including therapy & intervention service, special needs care service, official diagnosis & assessment service, special needs hobby classes, parents & teachers trainings/workshops, and etc.

Founded in early 2022, operating along with our core values of Perseverance, Compassionate, Enthusiasm, Integrity and Respectful; our team always strive to go the extra miles to support families with special needs and we are enthusiastic in all efforts to advocate and increase awareness in the mass public.

To date, the Miles Squad have expanded to having 20 employees and 21 students, and we are currently looking to invite more like minded people to join us on board in the organization's missions mentioned above.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct 1-1 or mini group therapy sessions with individuals with ASD, ADHD, or GDD, age 1.5 to 20 year old.
  • Intervention areas include behavior management, language & speech, social skills, abstract thinking, school readiness behaviors and skills, play skills, emotion regulations, self-help skills, fine & gross motor skills, and etc.)
  • Prepare daily lesson plans according to Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Take measurable behavior data and skill progress data.
  • Daily progress report writing.
  • Brainstorming sessions with team for client's learning needs.
  • Parents liaison at pick-up and drop-off.
  • Rotating for students lunch duties.
  • Supporting in general operations and organizations.
  • Training & development attendance & participation.
  • Conduct replacement sessions for absent co-workers.

Daycare Service

Clinical training: You are required to apply ABA Therapy knowledge in your day-to-day practices with our clients. Training of ABA Therapy skills will be provided upon joining and subsequent internal training will be provided to upskill all employees.

Clinical procedures execution: Executing clinical behavior procedures; and spontaneous communication procedures as per designed by the clinical teams for clients.

Lesson & activities planning: Planning activities and themes for our Special Education Daycare's day-to-day operations (in the areas of play skills, language development, fine/gross motor skills, "incorporating learning how to learn behaviors", self-help skills, interest development, and etc.).

Lesson & activities execution: Teaching our clients skills and behaviors through practicing ABA Therapy in usual childcare operation format that are in a more daily life setups (in mini groups or 1-to-1 settings).

Childcare routines: Taking care of clients’ daily routine - leisure time, meal time, showers, naps, and etc.

Potential Secondary Roles:

  • Advocacy & Education: You may be involved in participating in different autism related events to help advocate more people about autism and effective interventions.
  • Centre’s organization: You may be involved in assisting in general materials & toys organization.
  • Participation in clinical sessions: You will be assisting in being a prompter, group peer in clinical sessions; and floating as a replacing teacher for absent colleagues from the clinical team too.
  • Advocacy & Education: You may be involved in participating in different autism related events to help advocate more people about autism and effective interventions.
  • Centre’s organization: You may be involved in assisting in general materials & toys organization.
  • Other tasks as and when the need arises

Requirements for the role:

  • Fresh graduates or up to 2 years working experience in relevant fields particularly in Childcare, Early Edu., Special Needs Edu, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or the like.
  • Min. Degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Edu., Special Needs Edu. or others.
  • Creative & highly passionate with children!
  • Comfortable leading a group of children.
  • Energetic, fun, loud & bubbly!
  • Eager to learn clinical skills and is a fast learner.
  • Enjoy critical thinking and problem solving.
  • A team player.
  • Organised and good at multitasking.
  • Confident and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in oral & written English. (other languages will be an advantage).
  • Prior ABA Therapy experience will be an advantage.
