Overview:
You are responsible for managing the storage, movement, and tracking of spare parts and materials used for maintenance and operational support of equipment and assets. You need to ensure the materials are correctly stored, organized, and readily available when needed, while maintaining safety.
This role also ensures inventory accuracy, efficient warehouse operations, and the timely delivery of required spare parts to support uninterrupted plant and equipment operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Material Handling and Storage
- Receive and unload incoming shipments of technical spare parts and materials.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders or delivery notes to ensure accuracy. This includes the technical receiving inspection (to minimize dependency from technical teams especially for common/simple spares or/and simple inspection techniques) and preservation.
- Label, store, and organize materials in designated warehouse locations following established inventory systems.
- Safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move and store parts.
Inventory Management
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of spare parts and materials in the warehouse. Verify incoming materials and report damage and shortages items.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through periodic stock checks and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper labeling and identification of all spare parts and materials.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to monitor inventory levels and re-order as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
Warehouse Operations
- Organize the warehouse racking system for efficient space utilization and easy access to spare parts.
- Implement and follow warehouse safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Maintain and create a good and safe working place for people and company assets.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Coordinate the handling, storage, and disposal of obsolete or non-usable materials. This includes safe loading & unloading activities.
Coordination with Teams
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure timely delivery of critical spare parts.
- Assist in identifying and sourcing specialized parts in collaboration with procurement teams.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
System and Documentation
- Use inventory management or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to track and manage parts and materials.
- Generate and maintain reports related to inventory status, material usage, and procurement needs.
- Prepare and manage documents for material receiving, transfer, and issue transactions.
Performance Optimization
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through optimized inventory levels and sourcing strategies.
- Suggest improvements in warehouse processes and inventory management systems.
- Assist on investigation process related to warehouse activities if any for opportunity of improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably handling technical or industrial spare parts within Petrochemical, Refinery or Oleochemical industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems/modules or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.
- Knowledge of spare parts related to industrial equipment or machinery.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Advance Excel knowledge is a MUST.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit to lift, move, and organize materials
- Understanding safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Owned Forklift Operation License is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
