About the role : This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team at SEAMA CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD' as a Quantity Surveyor (QS). In this full-time position, you will be based in our offices in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, playing a crucial role in the construction projects undertaken by our company. What you'll be doing : 1. Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including measurement, quantification, and preparation of bills of quantities (BQ). 2. Assisting the Contract Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor in implementing company procedures on contract administration matters. 3. Preparing, valuating, and submitting interim progress claims to clients and subcontractors on time, ensuring alignment with updated BQs and work progress. 4. Analysing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accurate project costing and execution. 5. Negotiating and managing subcontractor and supplier contracts, including coordinating with stakeholders to verify site measurements and quantities. 6. Monitoring project costs, controlling expenditures, and ensuring they remain within approved budgets while providing regular cost reports and financial updates to project managers and clients. 7. Managing amendments to the scope of work, conditions of contract, variation orders, and extension-of-time requests while ensuring compliance with project timelines. 8. Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions, contract documentation, and associated reporting requirements. 9. Attending site and subcontractor meetings as necessary to facilitate communication and effective coordination. What we're looking for : - A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. - Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. - Candidates with prior experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry will be given preference. - Excellent understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. - Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely work. - Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others are essential.
