You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced engineers, project managers, and many more industry professionals. o As an experienced mechanical engineer, you will be given the opportunity to solve challenging problems across process safety, reliability, profitability, and sustainability. o You will leverage a strong technology foundation and provide a global fleet ExxonMobil perspective in your work products o Position is based in Kuala Lumpur and open to non-Malaysians What you will do o Provides technical leadership to teams supporting global fleet steam cracking furnaces and support their development of discipline expertise o Apply personnel and process safety principles in manufacturing facilities across the globe o Using fundamental mechanical engineering principles, work with others to provide mechanical engineering design knowledge for global steam cracking furnace projects and technology o As required, participate in troubleshooting and development teams with other professionals to address complex technical issues o Train/mentor less experienced mechanical engineers in relevant skillsets o Assist operating sites with unit start-up, mechanical troubleshooting and performance evaluations o Drive operational improvements through technical contribution and innovation About you Skills and Qualifications o BEng in Mechanical Engineering or higher o Open to business travel ~ 10-20% of a year o Demonstrated knowledge or experience in applying mechanical engineering principles o Strong working knowledge of industry design tools for simulation and mechanical analysis o Demonstrated ability to use design tools and in applying them in complex troubleshooting situations o Effective professional verbal and written skills o Self-starter, takes the initiative in applying, developing and communicating technical issues Preferred Skills o Familiarity with industry standards including ASME B31.3 and/or ASME B31.1 and other industry codes such as ASME VIII, ASME VIII Div. 2, API 530, API 560 o Able to run, self-check, implement flexibility analysis of piping systems using industry software packages (such as Caesar II or equivalent) o Experienced in interacting with 3rd party vendors and/or EPC companies o Ability to interact with drafting groups for drawing generation, quality control, and drawing implementation o Finite element analysis (FEA) understanding or previous experience (such as Abaqus or equivalent) o Experience with fired equipment (e.g., steam cracking, process heaters, combustion equipment) o Knowledgeable in sub-specialties of olefins manufacturing processes such as steam cracking furnace technology and/or previous experience with chemicals/refining/fired equipment in manufacturing environment For more details, please visit the link provided below and submit your application online: https://jobs.exxonmobil.com/ExxonMobil/job/Kuala-Lumpur-Olefins-Technology-Mechanical-Engineer-14/1247132300/
