Job Description: The Deputy Chairman of Foreign Affairs will play a critical role in advancing the organization’s global and local interests by overseeing international and government relations. This individual will work closely with both foreign governments and the Malaysian government, as well as international and local stakeholders, to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. The Deputy Chairman will represent the organization in global forums, manage cross-border initiatives, and provide strategic advice on international policies, global market trends, and local government affairs. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the organization’s international and local government relations, managing key diplomatic efforts with foreign governments, the Malaysian government, partners, and stakeholders. • Develop, implement, and evaluate the organization’s foreign and domestic policies, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. • Lead international and local negotiations, representing the organization at global forums, summits, and related events, strengthening the organization’s global and local presence. • Advise the executive leadership on foreign affairs and government relations matters, providing insight on international policy developments, local government affairs, and global market trends to guide decision-making. • Coordinate and manage cross-border initiatives, ensuring compliance with global and local standards, regulations, and laws, while aligning international projects with the organization’s strategic objectives. • Manage and nurture international and local partnerships and relationships, providing strategic direction and fostering productive collaboration to support the organization’s global and local agendas. • Serve as a liaison between the organization, foreign governments, and the Malaysian government, ensuring effective communication and alignment with partners on key initiatives. Qualifications: • Proven experience in foreign affairs, government relations, or diplomacy, particularly in both international and local (Malaysian) contexts. • Strong understanding of international relations, Malaysian government policies, and global market trends. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Ability to represent the organization at high-level international and local forums with professionalism and tact. • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex global and domestic issues and cross-border initiatives.
